Employment and Education

We offer support in finding employment for adults with special needs. It is our aim to give young adults with learning difficulties a chance to experience employment without discrimination.  We find jobs that would fit with our housemates interests and abilities! We don’t create jobs to fit with our housemates disabilities! Our team liaises with employers to establish tasks within their business that young adults with learning difficulties can undertake independently, successfully and safely.
We ensure our housemates receive a fair wage for any work they do.
Support continues throughout their term of employment to assist and protect both housemate and employer.

Obviously informal education (which includes numeracy/literacy) and lifeskills are taught indirectly as part of the support package offered to the users of our services. We don't do formal lessons! We believe these skills can be learnt through daily experience. Housemates learn to cook, clean and do all the normal things expected when living a more independent life.  We help them with all activities and teach them how to do it for themselves.

We will assist our housemates find suitable courses and training opportunities.  We have three housemates who are using City College Brighton.
